Happy
The animation used a lively ball that rotates and jumps to represent happy emotions. There are also several rotating cards in the middle with “Happy” text on them. The animation used many colorful colors, I sped up the movement of the shapes and tried to keep the timing right. Therefore, the most challenging part is
controlling their duration and maintaining the right speed of movement.

This is my first phone ‘s corpse I used it to shoot many time-lapse videos, and once even as a light source for a photography assignment. One day, I found its system had died. Not from any accident, just from being left unused in my bag for days. I tried everything to fix it — refreshing the system, searching forums, visiting repair shops. Eventually, I gave up. I bought a frame for it. Now it stays there, forever.

嘉 JIA
This is my second practice sketch. It depicts a small town in China. My teacher recommended this scene for copying practice, mostly because no other student wanted to draw it. There was just so much detail on the left. Everyone hated it. Me too. I bought my first pen and colored ink for this piece, and never used them again. The paper was the most interesting part. It was so thin that I accidentally drew several holes in it.

井 JING
This is my first practice sketch. It depicts a bustling small town scene in China. I started with a special kind of paper. The teacher asked me to find a sketch from a book that would suit it, and then copy it for practice. I chose this one because it felt perfect for the paper — old, historical, and full of life. It includes buildings, people, cars, and the most satisfying part: the countless tiny roof tiles.

Hey, I’m Ziping. I’m a Writer, Director, Editor, Cinematographer, and Photographer. I earned an Associate in Science in Video Arts and Technology at the Borough of Manhattan Community College in May 2025. Currently, I am pursuing a bachelor’s degree (Bachelor of Arts) in Film Production at Brooklyn College.
As a Chinese immigrant who moved to New York in 2023, I’ve explored many creative fields—from coding and animation to painting and game design. But it was through film and sound that I truly found my voice. Now, I focus on visual storytelling that inspires positivity and invites people to see the world with more appreciation.
My goal is to create emotionally resonant stories, no matter how big or small, that bring light, hope, and new perspectives to others.
